Absolutely spotless throughout. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay, and it’s the first place we would try next. Thanks to you both.Brendan. September 2019
The B&B offers 2 rooms, both of which we occupied. Therefore, we were the only guests. We felt very comfortable and were well catered for. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious and special requests are addressed, if realistic. Parking is available at the B&B and is close to the town centre. The rooms are spacious and cosy. There is a tray of tea, coffee, biscuits and water that is replenished every day. The Wi-Fi reception is very good. The hosts are very nice, reserved people who have welcomed us kindly in their home. Always happy!Silke. Germany. August 2019
We stayed for 2 nights (a Wednesday and Friday) at Rose Cottage in Fort Augustus whilst on a cycling trip. We give it Top Marks all round! We arrived late in the evening, wet, cold and muddy. Dorothy and Tim set up a clothes rack for us to hang our wet gear, and provided lots of newspapers for us to stuff our shoes to help dry them out. The double room was exceptionally clean, spacious and well equipped. We enjoyed the homemade shortbread and a hot cup of tea. Breakfast the next day was good sized and good quality, we even had vegetarian sausages! As we were due back the following evening, we agreed with Dorothy that we would re-use our bed linen to save the environment – something we feel passionately about, and she kindly did this for us, which we appreciated. When we returned on the Friday, again cold, wet and muddy, we were helped to dry our gear and along with shortbread, had cheesy scones to cheer us up! We were also able to use the garage on both occasions to store our bikes. The breakfast room is large, light and airy, and there is a very large communal sitting room for guests which we did not use, but was nice to have. We left two items behind by accident, which Dorothy swiftly returned to us by post. It is an easy and short walk to the shops and restaurants from Rose Cottage. The service was excellent, so nice to meet Dorothy and Tim. The cottage was immaculately clean, and food delicious. We highly recommend – this was the best place we stayed during our trip and best value for money. We would certainly stay there again when back in Fort Augustus.Jane and Jimmy August 2019

Just a wee note to say thank you for your hospitality last week. In our opinion you came out top. You provided a warm welcome. Your room had all the required facilities – plenty towels, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv, you recommended a good restaurant and you supplied the best breakfast. Thanks. LOVED every moment of our quick 1 night stay. Best night of sleep on trip. Cute and clean room. Modern shower, provided champagne to celebrate of recent marriage, treats. All wonderful. Even enjoyed a stray sheep “bahhhh’ randomly with fresh air/ windows bring able to be left slightly open. Hosts were wonderful genuinely nice people who took the time to speak to us about our wedding day, look at pics, and served us a delicious breakfast before we left. I highly recommend this place!Erin and Bradley. Wisconsin. July 2019

We were booked in to Rose Cottage by Macs Adventures for a three day walk along Loch Ness. All our accomodation for the trip was good but Rose Cottage really stood out. Spotlessly clean, very high standard of room, excellent breakfast and lovely hosts who were really keen to make us feel welcome and at home. No hesitation to recommend (we will certainly make a return trip).
Dorothy & Tim were attentive lovely hosts. Bed was comfy, Breakfast very good. Sat Nat appears to take you out of Fort Augustus, but just takes in a circle back into the village. 3 minute walk to pubs/eating etc 5 minutes back (beer & uphill!!)Maggie and Gordon. April 2019

“Rose Cottage is a well established and comfortable B&B in Fort Augustus which is conveniently located on the Great Glen Way, so ideal if one is cycling, running or walking this trail & bike storage is available. It is also a short stroll to the centre and Loch Ness.H.T. July 2018
“Dorothy and Tim are excellent hosts and were very welcoming and hospitable. Rose Cottage was chosen because of its attractive location along the Great Glen Way as we were cycling from Fort William to Inverness.
“On this occasion, owing to an unexpected medical interruption needing urgent attention in Inverness the following morning, Dorothy provided packed breakfasts for our onward journey, getting up at 5am to do this. We cannot thank her enough for her kindness.
“The Great Glen Way is a fantastic trail for walkers, runners and cyclists and the very best way to see and experience the beauty of Scotland. Having wonderful B&Bs such as Rose Cottage, with local hosts, add to the enjoyment of travelling.
“Rose Cottage comes highly recommended – refer to the website for more details.”
“If you are anywhere near Fort Augustus make sure you do yourself a favour and spend the night at Rose Cottage. Dorothy and Tim could not be more welcoming. It is positioned strategically close to the magnificently named “Lock Inn” pub and after a delightful dinner with the Fort Augustus locals, a terrific night’s sleep is assured back at Rose Cottage. Surely the highlight though is Tim’s outstanding bacon and eggs the next morning. A fond farewell from Dorothy capped off the perfect B&B experience.”John B. June 2018
